Elaine Brewer-White
Elaine Brewer-White was born in Calgary. Here she graduated from the University of Calgary and joined Loose Moose Theatre Company, which brought to her life artistic skills that changed her view on life.
She also graduated from Emily Carr College of Art and Design with a major in ceramics after moving to British Columbia.
Elaine built her career as a figurative sculptor. She is creating art for commercial and public galleries as for corporate and private art collections.
Elaine infuses her creations with social commentary and humour. Her work frequently explores themes of introspection, irony, and exuberant freedom, conveyed through rich textures, dynamic movement, and vibrant colours.
Elaine frequently engages with iconic historical and pop culture figures, using the ‘what if’ question to develop unique perspectives.
She has been doing a clay sculptor for over 35 years.
Over the past decade, she has broadened her scope to include smaller pieces, such as her WallWorks series, as well as functional items, infusing her passion for storytelling and colour into these more personal creations.
